SYNOPSIS


The session is aimed at presenting the latest technology trends in the field of micro- and nano-electronic devices for computing, sensors and transducer applications. The first two presentations address the latest technology trends in the evolution of digital electronic devices, proposed to overcome Si-device limitation, due to the introduction of III-V materials in MOSFET structure and the development on novel neuromorphic computing devices. In the third presentation, we will show how to use nanostructured materials fabricated using printing technology (e.g. spray deposited silver nano-wires, AgNWs) to implement audio transducers for automotive applications. The last two contributions are focused on the use of nano-material and device solutions to implement bio-sensors: fiber transmission properties are used to detect the concentration of DNA sequence in the first talk, while nanoparticles are exploited to extract intra or extra-cellular information.
